A district in the Regla municipality. We got there by boat from Havana. What is worth seeing? What time of day should you go? Here is the report, with photos from the trip.
I love trips like this. We board a boat and sail off to find new places. Adventure in the air. Imagine sitting with a mug of hot tea, reading a very good book. You feel like you are in the middle of the story. It is that feeling, with one difference. You really are in the place.

The trip starts in Havana, at the ferry terminal in the old town. About 20 to 30 people board, and the fare is 0.25 CUC. The usual treatment of tourists applies: no change given from 1 CUC. Go in the afternoon, so you catch the sunset.
A dozen or so minutes later we are there. A tiny town greets us, with only one direction to walk: the hill with the Christ of Havana statue on it.

The statue is 20 meters tall and visible from the whole capital. The eyes are blank. That is meant to say that Jesus watches us everywhere, whatever place we are in.

The island also holds La Cabana, a large fortress that was never taken. Behind the walls you can walk the streets and look into a museum. The house of Che Guevara, the revolutionary, is here as well.
The fort looks its best at sunset. Time runs fast there, and photos in the golden hour come out very well.

We spend a few hours here. At 20:45 soldiers in colonial era uniforms fire the cannon salvo.

The view of Havana
We were very lucky, and the photos show it. The sky put on a display, and it sat well against the view of Havana.

The views alone are a reason to come over to Casablanca. They make a big impression, and people say this is one of the best spots in Havana.

A huge MSC ferry had come into Havana. The line runs cruises all over the world. A cruise like that is one of my future plans.
Summary
Good weather and the state of the sky made Casablanca a place I will not forget. A very relaxing time, no rush, we just enjoyed the moment. I recommend attractions of this kind!
