A photo report with a few tips. A great day spent at the ZOO, which produced a handful of interesting pictures. Come and read it!
I think each of us had the luck to visit a ZOO as a child. A lot of impressions and joy from watching the animals, multiplied by a child’s curiosity. Unfortunately, the older you are, the harder it is to impress you. We are more demanding, and for many people a trip to the ZOO is no longer that exciting.

My visit was a little different. With a camera in my hands I looked at the animals in a completely different way. I hunted interesting shots and extra emotion. The weather held, and a lot of the animals were sitting in spots that suited me.
Sadness on their faces
Animals kept in captivity are not happy. Positive emotion showed on their faces only while they were being fed. I tried to bring their emotions out.
The challenge was that most of the animals were indifferent and lazy. Bored, they lay somewhere off in the distance, not even thinking about showing off for people.
Bars and railings
The next challenge: fences of every kind. The difficulty was catching the animals so that they looked as natural as possible. I did not want visible bars or railings in the pictures. Sometimes that took some contortion, but nothing is hard for someone who wants it.
The photos
I recommend the ZOO to anyone who wants to widen their photography skills. Go and try your hand at it. A long lens of around 135mm will definitely come in handy, as my pictures show.
